The results are in: for the fifth consecutive year, personal injury law firm Block O’Toole & Murphy dominates the Top Settlements report, as published by the New York Law Journal.
In 2016, the law firm achieved 4 of the Top 5, 5 of the Top 10 and 6 of the Top 20 Settlements in all of New York State, according to Verdict Search(an ALM Publication). Each year, Verdict Search collects top verdicts and settlements and releases a report that is then published by the New York Law Journal. Since 2012, no other law firm in New York State has attained more top results on the list than Block O’Toole & Murphy.

Block O’Toole & Murphy continues its tradition of excellence in helping injured workers. The firm was recognized for having the 2nd, 3rd and 4thhighest results for construction cases and the 2nd and 8th best settlements in the state for workplace injury cases. Victims in motor vehicle collisions were also well served by having Block O’Toole & Murphy by their side. The firm garnered 7 out of the top 20 settlements for motor vehicle accidents, including the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th highest settlements in New York. The firm also holds the top spot for 2016 Top 20 Mediated Settlements ($7,300,000) and has three Top 10 results in that category. Additionally, the team achieved the top ranking in all of New York State for settlements in premises liability cases and workplace negligence cases that were mediated.

In 2016, Block O’Toole & Murphy recovered well over $100,000,000 in verdicts and settlements for their clients, including a woman struck by a van that careened into the parking lot where she was standing. The case settled for $9,950,000, the second highest settlement in the state. They also achieved hard earned victories for injured construction workers including settlements for $7,400,000, $7,300,000, 6,000,000 and $5,500,000.
