NYC Bus Accident Caused By Drunk Driver

This website recently reported on a truck-bus accident that killed the MTA driver. Further investigation has revealed that the box truck was stolen by the nephew of famous fashion model Tyson Beckford. Moreover, the nephew, Dominic Whilby, had been drinking at a Fashion Week party in the hours before the accident.

Whilby could face murder charges, according to an article in the New York Post. He was partying with his famous uncle and other celebrities such as Paris Hilton and former Jet’s player Darrelle Revis. However, he was asked to leave a downtown Manhattan club around 3:30 a.m. because he was getting too friendly with some female customers.

He walked to a nearby hotel, passed out in the lobby, and was escorted out. He then got buzzed in to a nearby apartment building, where he began knocking on doors. Once he left that building, he wandered around until he found the delivery truck with its keys in the ignition. He started the truck and began driving around the area, crashing into several parked cars as he sped toward Seventh Avenue and West 14th Street. At that intersection, he ran a red light and hit the M14 bus driven by MTA veteran William Pena.

The bus driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the bus by the impact. One passenger suffered injuries, as did three others on the street.

Whilby, age 23, is a self-styled party boy, according to his social media pages.

Pena was the first NYC bus driver killed on the job since 2008. He leaves behind a wife and daughter.
