$1,500,000 Settlement for Driver Who Suffered Bulging Discs After Crash

On September 19, 2009, the Plaintiff while driving his vehicle in Brooklyn he was rear-ended by the Defendants' vehicle, causing him to sustain back injuries. The Court granted the Plaintiff summary judgment on the issue of liability. As a result of the accident, the Plaintiff one herniated disc in his lumbar spine and four bulging discs. He underwent a minimally invasive surgical procedure and then a lumbar laminectomy. The Plaintiff made a claim for the necessity for future medical needs and the costs related thereto.

Result: The case settled after jury selection for $1,500,000.
