Insurance Companies: Inspiring Classic Hits

In 1983, The Police had a smash hit with I'll Be Watching You. The song's lyrics could easily have been written about an insurance company:

Every breath you take and every move you make
Every bond you break, every step you take, I'll be watching you
Every single day and every word you say
Every game you play, every night you stay, I'll be watching you

Whether you have been injured in a car accident and are making a personal injury claim, hurt on the job and seeking workers' compensation, or seeking disability benefits, the insurance company will do anything they can to discredit you and avoid paying.

It turns out that jealous former coworkers may also be a concern.

A story in the NY Daily News explains:

Rachel Niccoll, who spent 13 years on the force before retiring in 2009, receives the generous pension package that pays her $66,083 a year, plus benefits - and also regularly runs races in New York, records show.

A letter to the Daily News signed "concerned citizen" said Niccoll, 44, suffered a knee injury on the job.

"She has, since retirement, been able to participate in several grueling sports events which many able body full duty (Members of the Service) would have a hard time participating much less finishing," the letter read.

This will likely result in an investigation and it's anyone's guess how it will turn out. But it is important to remember that you can't judge a book by its cover, especially when it comes to injuries and disabilities.

If you are seeking benefits due to an injury or disability, you can rely on the proven injury attorneys of Block O'Toole & Murphy to protect your reputation and clearly demonstrate the effects of your injuries.
