Brain-damaged woman awarded $120 million

Last week, a New York jury awarded $120 million to a 45-year-old woman who suffered severe brain-damage after a series of city hospital visits in 2004. Her incapacitation was the direct result of mismanagement of her care and all three hospitals were found liable for medical malpractice.

Construction Worker Dies First Day on Job

A construction worker fell to his death while working on an exterior renovation project in SoHo, tragically capping off what was reportedly his first day of work. According to NBC New York, the worker was identified as 28-year-old Adrien Zamora, who was from Ditmas Park in Brooklyn. Reportedly, Zamora was working on scaffolding three stories up when he fell to his death. The accident occurred at a site where a low-rise luxury building is being renovated at 450 Broome St., near Mercer.
