Thomas Gearon is Of Counsel at the Law Firm of Block O’Toole and Murphy. An experienced trial attorney with accomplishments in state and federal courts, he is proficient in personal injury law and New York labor law, with a track record of successful results on behalf of those injured as a result of others’ bad acts and negligence.

A noted expert in labor law issues, he was instrumental in identifying violations of the FLSA on behalf of NYC Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA), recovering $43 million dollars from the City of New York.

The son of a union ironworker, Mr. Gearon is a former NYC Police Officer who regularly represents labor unions in complex negotiations and litigation. In told, he has recovered millions of dollars for workers hurt as a result of employer negligence. His counsel is often sought out by both public and private sector labor unions on issues that affect their members. His dedication to worker rights extends outside of the courtroom, as he regularly gives Wage and Hour Compliance seminars, sponsored by the Asian Job Service Employer Committee in conjunction with NY State DOL, and United States Small Business Association. He is a frequent guest lecturer on Labor Law issues.

Mr. Gearon is also a volunteer at Chinese Immigrant Services, Inc. and appears weekly on Chinese American Voice talk radio as commentator focusing on a variety of legal issues confronting that dynamic community.
