Friday, February 17, 2012

Four injuries have been reported in a crash caused by a drunk, wrong-way driver in Rochester. According to MSNBC, the woman, 38-year-old Evangeline Roscoe, was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of the Inner Loop when she caused a three-vehicle crash. According to police, Roscoe hit a car driven by Jason Juliano head-on, and then a third car hit Roscoe’s vehicle. Four people were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where Roscoe is currently in guarded condition, Juliano is in satisfactory condition, and of the other two passengers one has been released and the other is under evaluation.

Roscoe has received several traffic tickets and has been charged with the felonies of first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree vehicular assault, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, as well as the misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated. The three vehicles were badly damaged and are being held by the State Police. The other passengers injured in the accident were 19-year-old Turquois Arend and passenger, 23-year-old Shaquanda Lewis.
