Man, 36, Killed In Motorcycle-Car Collision In West Babylon

A 36-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his motorcycle was involved in a crash with a car in West Babylon. The victim, John Hart from nearby Lindenhurst, was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the car, 68-year-old Doris Wagner of West Babylon, was not injured in the crash.

According to Suffolk County police, Ms. Wagner was trying to make a left turn into a parking lot when her car collided with Mr. Hart's motorcycle. Ms. Wagner had been driving a 2002 Nissan Maxima northbound on Great East Neck Road when she attempted to make the left turn into the East Neck Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, located at 134 Great East Neck Road. Mr. Hart had been driving a 2011 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Great East Neck Road when the collision occurred at around 4 p.m. on Friday.

Detectives impounded the vehicles for safety checks, and investigations continue.
