Plaintiff was 51 years old on the date of the accident and employed as a Union carpenter.

FACTS AND ALLEGATIONS

This matter stems from a motor vehicle accident which occurred on January 15, 2012, at 1:47 pm on 23rd Avenue as it approaches 87th Street, Queens, New York. Plaintiff was struck in the rear by Defendant bus after stopping in a moving lane of traffic to ask for directions.

INJURIES/DAMAGES

Plaintiff sustained a lumbar herniation at L4/L5 requiring surgery. Additionally, plaintiff sustained cervical herniations at C5-C6 and C6-C7 requiring a fusion surgery at those levels.

Plaintiff made claims for past and future medical expenses, as well as pain and suffering and loss of enjoyment of life.

RESULT

The parties negotiated a $1,500,000 pretrial settlement.
